TRACK RULES FOR ALL DIVISIONS

AREA DESCRIPTION:

MAIN PIT AREA:  Located Inside fence area after you purchase you Pit Armband.

HOT PIT AREA:  Inside the Track behind Concrete Barriers. EVERYONE MUST REMAIN BEHIND THE BARRIERS AT ALL TIMES!

ALL NON QUALIFYING CLASSES: PREVIOUS WINNER WILL START IN THE REAR FOR NEXT RACE OR NEXT RACE ATTENTED.  EXCLUDES BIG RACES AND CHAMPIONSHIP RACES.

QUALIFYING MUST HAVE 11 OR MORE CARS 

**BACK GATE EXIT: The ONLY TIME YOU CAN EXIT THE BACK GATE IS AFTER QUALIFYING AND WHEN THE RACE IS COMPLETED. IF YOU NEED TO EXIT YOU HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL A CAUTION COMES OUT. IF YOU ARE IN THE INFIELD DUE TO BEING WEIGHED OR ISSUE WITH YOUR CAR YOU MUST COME TO TURN 1 AND THEN EXIT BACK GATE.

 ALL CAUTIONARY RULES APPLY TO MAIN PIT AREA AND HOT PIT AREA AT ALL TIMES.

General Rules

1. Track official’s decision will be final. We cannot make the rules to fit everyone’s needs and desires. So, if you run, please be willing to go by the rules outlined in these rules.

2. Top three (3) cars in all divisions must cross the scales after the race; the first three cars are subject to Post Race Inspection.

3. Prize money will not be held for anyone. It must be picked up the night it’s earned, by the Driver Only, with Picture ID. NO exceptions.

4. An adult must accompany children under age 14 in the main pitat all times, No children allowed in hot pit area.  All children must stay clear of the Scale area at all times. Drivers, pit crew members and spectators in the pit area, it is your responsibility to know where your children are at ALL times. Failure to do so could result in loss of pit privileges.

5. Any car or cars caught illegal, receives no money or points for said Event.

6. Refusing to obey officials could result in laps taken away or suspended.

7. Drivers can participate in two separate divisions BUT MUST BE 2 SEPARATE CARS; AND must purchase one additional entry fee of $40.00. Drivers can only compete in Two local division per race meet. Compete being; given the first green flag for a start, even if the start becomes void. In the event of a series event you may race the series event and one local division in the same night. (Note: This rule will be strictly enforced) Official discretion by track owner will be exercised.

8. A Race-Car can only compete in one local division per race night.

9. Drivers will be paid according to laps completed. The payoff on a red and checkered flag will be the same as a restart.

10. All cars are subject to inspection by track officials at any time. Any car that loses fuel cell is subject to a $200.00 fine.

11. Sign-in, it is the responsibility of the driver to sign-in under the correct division and use his or her correct name. Driver’s name competing must match the sign-in sheet. In the event of a driver change, OFFICIALS MUST BE NOTIFIED so sign-in sheet can be changed prior to the start of any competition of the driver’s division. NO driver changes will be allowed in any division once competition for that division has started. Competition being Time trials and/or Heat races and/or Last Chance races and/or Feature race. 

12. Track reserves the right to add weight to any car in order to offset any minor rule violations. Official’s discretion will be utilized.

13. Any car caught that has lost a muffler or lead weight bars from their car will be fined $100.00. Top 3 Cars will be checked at the scales.

14. All 4-wheeler, Golf Carts, Motorcycles or Personal Transportation Vehicles must purchase a (PTP PASS) personal transportation pit pass. The PTP pass must be purchased at the pit gate at the same time you purchase your pit pass. The cost of the PTP pass is $25. per race event. All (PTP passes) must be displayed on the personal transportation vehicle. Anyone under the age of 16 operating a personal transportation vehicle must be accompanied by an adult.

16. In the event a driver is suspended – that suspension will start at the next scheduled event and continue until completed.

17. Anyone entering Fort Payne Motor Speedway must purchase an Armband. If you are caught without an armband, you must go purchase 2 armbands or be Banned indefinitely from all events.

18. After the race is completed and you receive the checkered flag, TOP 3 cars must enter the infield in front of the Flag-stand and go straight to the scales. 

19. No one is allowed on the racetrack “ie” racing surface at any time. In the event of a caution/red flag situation only pit officials allowed on track. In the event that someone other than pit officials are on the track during race, caution or red flag (unless permitted by a pit official) that person will receive a $25.00 fine.

CAR NUMBER

20. Number must be at least 18” inches high and on both sides and top of car AND MUST BE LEGIBLE.

Aggressive Driving/Fighting/ Illegal Activity

Anyone caught drinking; using marijuana, controlled substances, or fighting will be Disqualified.

First Offense: DQ’ed Loss of Points and Money earned. Second Offense DQ’ed loss of points and money earned and suspended for 1 week. Third Offense DQ’ed Loss of points of Money earned and $500.00 fine and must talk to track promotor to be reinstated.

This pertains to Drivers AND Crew Members; all drivers are subject to a breath test. Any driver or pit crew caught drinking alcoholic beverages or fighting at any race meet will automatically forfeit any money said car has won and points for that race meet. Any driver or pit crew-member that enters another driver’s pit area will be deemed the aggressor.

Away from either driver’s pit area both drivers and pit crew-members will be considered aggressors.

The aggressor or aggressors will receive the same offense.

Drivers should be aware that they will be held responsible for all members of their race team.

ANY RACER OR CREW MEMBER THAT MAKES PHYSICAL CONTACT WITH ANY TRACK OFFICIAL, OR TRACK EMPLOYEE WILL BE ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH ASSAULT.

However, nothing shall prohibit the track Official’s from administering any penalty, including immediate removal from the premises or permanent suspension of track privileges to driver, owner or pit crew member whose conduct, in the complete discretion of the track Official’s represents a threat to the orderliness of track operations or the safety of others.

Any driver who enters the grandstand area and/or proceeds to enter without an invitation and conducts him or herself in an UN-sportsman like manner may be suspended.

Any driver deemed to be intentionally driving over aggressively under green flag conditions will be penalized. 1st offense driver will be put to the rear of field, Rough Driving at any time will be BLACK FLAGGED sent to the pits losing all points and money for that race meet.

In the event of a driver intentionally hitting or running into someone’s race car in hot laps, under caution or after the checkered flag, the penalty will be $350.00 fine per hit and you will be placed on probation for the remainder of the season. All fines must be paid before you can compete in any event at Fort Payne Motor Speedway.

Any incidents that are judged to be deliberate acts of aggression whether on or off the track, under green, caution or red will result in being disqualified and/or suspended

Communication Devices

A RaceCeiver is required anytime a car is on the track. Always check your RaceCeiver before getting on the track to ensure it is working properly. Any car caught on the track without a RaceCeiver will be Disqualified.

LIGHT STICKS MAY NOT BE USED. NO OTHER RADIOS OR COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT SUCH AS PHONES, MIRRORS, PIT BOARDS ALLOWED. ANYONE CAUGHT DOING SO WILL BE SUBJECT TO PENALTIES.

 Scoring/Starts & Restarts/ Yellow Flags

****On the initial start of race, Flagman starts the race at green light under flagman’s discretion.

****On restarts, starts will be between the green start boxes and tires in turn 4 with leader starting at Race Directors discretion.

To be the official leader of the race you must have completed the last complete green lap. The Score Line Is at the flag stand.

In the event of a caution, The car or cars that was presented the caution flag at anytime will go to the rear of the field. Any car or cars that come to a stop due to being involved in a caution and the caution flag was displayed for, will line up in the rear for the restart. Secondary Caution cars not involved in the caution will re-start in their regular position.  

Any car that brings out the Yellow Caution flag (3) times in a SINGLE CAR CAUTION, car must go to the pits. 

MAIN PITS & HOT PITS

Driving in the pit area and Hot Pit Area. It is the driver’s responsibility to drive slowly and under control at all times in pit area. Any driver that drives reckless or out of control at the discretion of Official’s WILL be Disqualified and lose all pit privileges.  There are children in pit area stay observant.

A driver going to the hot pits under yellow or red must go to the rear of the field.

All drivers entering race track from hot pits under green must enter the racetrack on the front straight away only. Do not enter the racetrack on the back straight away if you do you will be black- flagged.

Any car Coming onto the track from the infield area must do so in turn 1, and circle around to back gate to exit the track. Do not enter the racetrack on the back straight away if you do you will be Disqualified.

Track Safety

Any driver that gets out of his or her car on the track under a caution or red flag will be put in the pits. Do not get out of your car unless you are prepared to go to the pits. The only time this rule will be excused is for safety reasons, fire, etc.

NO WORK CAN BE DONE ON RACE-CARS ON THE TRACK.  All work on race-cars must be done in the Hot Pit Area Only.

If a car sustains any damage on the racetrack that requires repairs, the car must go to the Hot Pits for the necessary repairs. Track officials or wrecker officials will NOT make repairs. REPAIRS CAN ONLY BE DONE INSIDE HOT PITS BY CREW MEMBERS.

When pushed off by track official, wait until they pull around you or you are told on the ReceCeiver you are clear to go, before speeding up.

Driver must have a complete fire suit on when in their race car on the track.

Points will be awarded as follows.

1st = 124       13th= 102

2nd = 120      14th = 102

3rd = 118      15th = 102

4th = 116       16th = 102

5th = 114       17th= 102

6th = 112       18th = 102

7th = 110       19th = 102

8th = 108       20th = 102

9th = 106       21st = 102

50 Points for Show

CHANGES / SUBSTITUTIONS

At the discretion of the Race Officials. Drivers may change cars at any time between qualifying and the start of the Main Feature. DRIVER MUST NOTIFY REGISTRATION OFFICAL BEFORE THE MAIN FEATURE. However, any change will result in the driver starting in the rear of his or her Heat race, Last Chance race and/or Feature race.

Drivers must notify the Race CONTROL (TOPSIDE) Officials of any desired change, so that Prize Money may be awarded correctly. NO EXCEPTIONS.

NOTE: For all races, once the field has been given the first green flag for a start, NO changes of car will be permitted, even if the start becomes void.

NO driver or class changes will be allowed in any division once competition has started. Competition being Time trials and/or Heat races and/or Last Chance races and/or Feature race.

TRACTION CONTROL DEVICES

All Traction Control Devices are strictly prohibited during any form of a Fort Payne Motor Speedway event, race or practice/test session.

Any traction control devices utilizing wheel sensors or any means of measuring ground speed to control wheel spin are strictly prohibited.

Any remote-controlled device inside or outside the cockpit of any competitor’s race-car are strictly prohibited. Including Cell Phones, which will be monitored with frequency.

A competitor found with any of the above mentioned will lose the complete device permanently and will be disqualified and may be suspended.

There is a $400.00 claim rule on all ignition boxes. 

COMPLETE DOUBLE FILE STARTS AND RE-STARTS

On initial start front row will have one (1) attempt to start the race,  GREEN LIGHT WILL START THE RACE.  Any car or cars that caused the caution will go to the rear. 

Double file re-starts: Leader chooses inside or outside.  Field will line up in the order they were running.  Leader chooses inside or outside Double file Leader re-starts the race at designated start line. Any car or cars that draws the caution will go to the rear.

Any driver who comes to a stop during the race, and in the opinion of the Officials, has done so deliberately to cause a re-start, will be put to the rear before the race is re-started.

 In the event of a caution before the first lap is complete, due to a multi car accident, the field will be lined-up for a complete restart in the original grid order, provided there are no penalties to be assessed. In the event you go in the Hot Pits you must go to the rear of the field. In the event of a single car causing a caution on the first lap will start in the rear of the field.

 When a caution flag occurs after the first lap is completed, the cars will line backup in single file. When officials conclude every car is in their proper position, the choose signal will be given to the leader, the leader will then choose inside or outside.  The remaining field will be asked to double file according to their running position. 

 On double file choose re-starts the leader re-starts the race at the designated start line.  Cars must NOT  “lay back” in an attempt to get a roll or run on the cars in front of them.

FLAGS

GREEN FLAG: Start the race.

YELLOW FLAG: Everyone slow down to a safe speed and follow the car you were behind the last green lap. You will be lined back up on the track where you were running, not the position that you are running.

RED FLAG: This flag means danger, stop as quickly as possible. Do not pass the flagman when this flag is displayed. The cars will be again lined up as they were running on the last green lap.

BLACK FLAG: This flag means pull into the pits.

LAP FLAG: Blue with a yellow stripe. Displayed to cars being lapped, must allow lead cars to pass. If driver does not respond to this flag they may be DQ’ed.

WHITE FLAG: One lap to go.

CHECKERED FLAG: Finish the race is over.

Track reserves the right to delete, change, or amend rules in the interest of competition.

Ford SVO Sportsman cast iron heads M-6049-E351 and M-6049-N352, GT-40-P, World Products Windsor Sr. heads. Ford Pro Action/Pro Top Line/Racing Head Service (RHS) heads may be used you must add 100 lbs. additional weight.

Chrysler cast iron W-2.

All heads must remain AS-CAST.

NO cc limit.

Valve angle and spacing must remain original production specs. For heads being used.

Steel valves only. (NO titanium valves)

Valve size maximum for (A) engine, Intake – 2.055, Exhaust – 1.600.

Valve stem diameter 11/32 minimum for all engines.

Under cut stems permitted, any type guides.

Any valve springs, retainers, and keepers.

Guide plates, screw in studs and stud girdles permitted.

Roller rocker arms, stud or shaft mount permitted.

NO porting or polishing all heads must remain AS-CAST.

NO Shot Peen porting heads.

NO port matching intake or exhaust runners.

Racing valve job permitted Machine cuts only.

INTAKE:

Any single four-barrel intake permitted.

May port and polish.

Any size carburetor spacer permitted.

CARBURETOR:

One four-barrel carburetor only of any manufacture.

NO turbo-chargers, blowers or fuel injections.

All engines must be naturally aspirated.

OIL SYSTEM:

Wet sump systems, internal or external pumps permitted.

Dry Sump Oil Systems permitted must add an additional 25 lbs. in front of rear motor plate.

WATER PUMP:

  1. No electric water pump.
  2. Cast or aluminum permitted.

FUEL PUMP:

  1. NO electric fuel pump.

DISTRIBUTOR:

Any ignition with the exception of magnetos (NO magnetos.)

There is a $400.00 claim rule on all ignition boxes.

(See Claim Rule Section for more info.)

TIMING CHAIN:

  1. Any chain and gears, NO gear or belt drives.

ENGINE SETBACK:

Engine setback will be 6” inches from center of top ball joint to the most forward spark plug. 1-inch tolerance on engine setback.

Engines may be crossed from one manufacturer’s line to another Example: Chevrolet in a Ford, Pontiac, etc.

FRAME:

All frames must be of steel construction.

Square or rectangular frame must have a minimum of 2” by 2” material, .083-wall thickness.

If round tube frame, tubing must have a minimum of 1-3/4” outside diameter, .083 wall thickness.

WHEEL BASE:

  1. Minimum wheelbase will be 103” inches. Max 105”.

ROLL CAGE:

All cars must have a suitable steel roll cage protecting the driver’s compartment, including headrest.

Side roll bars are mandatory and must extend into the door panels. A minimum of three (3) bars must be used on the left side.

Each bar must be at least 1-½” in diameter, with a minimum material thickness .083”.

Roll cages must be welded to frame.

BODY:

Same as Super Late Model specs.

NO mirrors, radios or communication equipment allowed in car at any time.

SAFETY:

All cars must have 3” inch seat belts with shoulder harness and must be attached to roll cage. And in date.

We strongly recommend that all cars have an approved fire extinguisher system, securely mounted, within easy reach of the driver.

A 5 lb. Halon System is recommended.

All drivers must wear a complete fire suit.

NUMBER:

Number must be at least 18” inches high and on both sides and top of car AND MUST BE LEGIBLE.

All cars must have a number.

EXHAUST/MUFFLERS:

MUFFLERS 25 LBS WEIGHT BRAKE

Dirt Pro Muffler or Borla Muffler.

NO modifications and/or alterations to mufflers will be allowed.

Collector type headers required.

All cars must register under 100 decibels.

NO deliberate air leaks, vents, holes, etc.

Any car that loses a muffler will automatically be disqualified.

BRAKES:

Four-wheel disc brakes permitted.

NO carbon fiber brake parts permitted.

FUEL CELL / FUEL:

An approved fuel cell (32-gallon maximum) must be securely mounted in the trunk area of the car, inside a .20-gauge metal box supported by a minimum of two 2” inch by 1/ 8” inch steel straps.

All fuel cells must be completely visible from rear of car.

Fuel cell must not be mounted lower than bottom of quick-change rear end.

Gas and E85 Flex Fuel, – NO alcohol – NO nitrous oxide, nitro methane or other nitrate additives.

NO propylene oxide.

Gas must not check above + 5 or – 5 on electronic fuel checker when calibrated with tracks racing gas.

Gas must pass acid test.

TRANSMISSION:

Must have at least one forward and one reverse gear in working order.

NO straight drives or in and out boxes.

WHEELS:

Any brand or type of wheel allowed must be mounted with lug nuts.

NO knock-off or center locks wheels.

Maximum wheel width – 14” inches.

TIRES:

Right Rear Only: 55’s,56’s, 1600’s and 4″s.   Left Rear 21’s; 1350; 55’s; 3’s; Hoosier 1600’s; American Racer 48’s or 56’s. Fronts Open.
Tires must have all numbers and name on the tire No grinding off of numbers or names, any tire that has been altered will be illegal.

Track reserves the right to adjust weights in interest of competition should it deem necessary.

Attached weight must be securely bolted to frame with ½” or larger bolts and painted white or silver with car number clearly painted on them.

All cars must have specified weight posted on top of roof.

Any sealed Crate Engine will be $1500.00 to tear down, Will pull complete motor and take to approved Engine Builder.  

 

Any item not listed in protest fees is considered a visual protest item and must be protested before race and not after.

Any crate engine protested must be reassembled and resealed by one of the Authorized Repair/Rebuild Centers.

PENALTIES FOR CRATE ENGINE INFRACTION

1ST Infraction

Disqualification of race, = 0 points, $0.00 in prize money won during the race, 30-day suspension from Fort Payne Motor Speedway and a $300.00 fine. The $300.00 fine must be paid before you can return to competition.

2nd Infraction


Disqualification of race, = 0 points, $0.00 in prize money won during the race and suspension from Fort Payne Motor Speedway for the remainder of the current season.

2024 FRONT WHEEL DRIVE K.I.S.S DIVISION

2024 FRONT WHEEL DRIVE DIVISION:

 

Double file re-start for the 2024 Season

RaceCeiver Required:

All cars must have a fully charged 2 lb. fire extinguisher mounted within reach of the driver. FIRE SUIT, GLOVES AND SHOES. 

LIGHT STICKS ARE NOT ALLOWED. NO OTHER RADIOS OR COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT SUCH AS PHONES, MIRRORS, ALLOWED AT ANY TIME.

CAR NUMBERS:

Number must be at least 18” inches high and on both sides and top of car AND MUST BE LEGIBLE.

– Must be a commercially produced FWD 4-cylinder car from a known auto manufacturer
– No turbo charged, super charged or rotary engines allowed
– No all-wheel drive cars or all wheel steer cars
– Engine must be outwardly stock appearing. There is no engine teardown in any way.
– Engine must match brand of car (ex. Honda must have Honda engine). Engine swaps are
allowed.
– FPMS has final ruling on all questions of legality.

v-6  PERMITTED 

– Questions of legality can and will be answered during the pre-race inspection if asked by
entrant. No guarantee of legality shall be expressed or implied during pre-race
inspection. Legality will be determined in POST-race inspection.
– Competitors must present cars for inspection prior to participating in any racing event.
– Mirrors are not allowed
– RaceCeiver /or a like device is mandatory at all times on track.
– No two-way radios of any kind allowed


WEIGHT:
– All cars must weigh a minimum of 2,200 pounds with car and driver after the race
Exceptions: 50 lb. weight break for HANS or like device
50 lb. weight break for full containment seat
Suspension:
– Must have stock rear and front suspensions as from factory. Any transplanted OEM
suspension or steering parts must be brand for brand and must bolt into factory mounting
holes without alteration to operate. Slotting of factory mounting holes allowed. No adjustable
aftermarket suspension components. Any adjustable OEM components must be welded to
render them non-adjustable Plating and structuring for durability and safety is allowed.
– No racing springs/shocks/struts allowed. Springs may be heated, clamped or use spring
rubbers. Springs may be swapped from other models but within 2” of factory installed height.
– There will be a strut assembly (to include spring and bumps or devices) claim of $200 each.
– Rear control arms should be stock but may be braced / strengthened / repaired. No adjustable
control arms.
– Stock type aftermarket suspension bushings are allowed
– Stock type STANDARD, non-adjustable, non-rebuildable shocks / struts required
– No weight jacks / cups of any kind
– Suspension limiter chain or tether is allowed as a solid piece. No aftermarket limiters.

BODY/ROLL CAGE:
– Must have a fully-welded, quality built MINIMUM 4-point roll cage inside the car with
minimum of 0.95″ thick tubing – SCDRA Tech Official has final say in safety of the cage
– Minimum 3 driver door bars / 2 side door bars – 6 or more-point cages okay
– Minimum of 3 vertical windshield or “trash” bars in front of driver.
– No part of the driver’s helmet may extend above the lower level of the roll cage halo.
– Roll cage may extend forward behind bumpers. Bumpers must be covered in some way with
no exposed sharp corners. Coverage is at officials’ discretion.
– Frame-like tubing only allowed for REPAIRS in front of front strut towers and behind rear strut
towers. No other frame-like tubing may be added to chassis.
– Aftermarket asphalt style nose pieces allowed. Any nose piece used must be conformed to fit
at reasonable and near-factory dimensions.
– No push bars to extend outside of bumpers or beyond nose piece.
– All bumpers (stock or tubing) must be covered and no sharp edges may be exposed
– No rub rails allowed on sides of body
– Sunroofs must be closed / covered with sheet metal
– No holes are allowed in the hood or front fenders and hood should cover entire engine
compartment.
– Holes in firewall and floor should be covered in order to seal off driver from hot fluids or parts.
– Floor pans and/or firewalls should remain intact between the front strut towers and rear strut
towers. Firewalls and floor pans may be patched with STEEL for REPAIRS only.
– Gutting of body is allowed however car should maintain reasonable appearance of stock car.
– Driver and front passenger door window openings along with rear and front window openings
must remain open and uncovered. Front windshield visors no more than 12” are allowed. Rear
door and/or small rear side windows can be closed or covered.
– No fins, wings, gurney flaps or lips are allowed anywhere on body. Properly constructed and
mounted rear mount spoilers that run from side to side are allowed within reason.
– Sheet metal decking should remain flush with doors and stock body lines and should not
create any lips or airfoils. There must be 2 inspection doors on decking. 1 at front and 1 at the
back.
– Sheet metal roofs CANNOT be flat and should be made to closely resemble the factory roof
lines. Roof pillars must also closely resemble the factory shape and lines.
– Some sheet metal will be allowed. The spirit of this rule is to keep cars remaining as close to
stock appearing as possible. No more than 1/3 of the original body can be sheet metal – this
does not include decking and/or interior. See diagram below. You can mix and match to achieve
this 1/3. Additional sheet metal not as specified may result in a 100 lbs. weight penalty which
increases by 100 lbs. at each event until corrected.

TIRES/WHEEL/BRAKES:
– Aftermarket racing wheels allowed – 7 inch maximum. NO BEAD LOCKS – maintain proper air
pressures.
– Street legal DOT tires required. No competition tires, drag radials, mud grip lug tires, racing
tires or racing recapped tires allowed. Directional tires are allowed.
– Tire inner tubes are allowed
– Tires can be mixed and matched for stagger on all 4 corners
– Stock-type master cylinders required. No bias adjusters or shut-off valves.
– Brakes must remain stock-type and operational 4-wheel brakes. Aftermarket pads and rotors
are allowed.


IGNITION/FUEL/EXHAUST:
– Any air or oil filters (K&N, etc.). Air intake filters must be closed on the end.
– Intake must be a stock intake. Porting and polishing are allowed. No Skunk 2, etc.
– Any racing fuel or pump gas allowed
– No Nitrous oxide or nitro methane allowed
– Stock-type fuel injection or stock manufactured carburetor only (Motorcraft, etc…). ONE
0.800″ maximum throttle body spacer may be used. Stock-type aftermarket and OEM throttle
bodies are allowed. No Holley, Weber or other racing carburetors allowed. Carbureted cars
must be stock for engine.
– No cold air intakes for fuel injections – must be stock type breather system. A flexible
rubber or plastic hose may be used in place of the stock air box tube. No smooth metal or
smooth plastic tubing allowed. A cone type filter is allowed and may be connected directly to
throttle body or the allowed tubes.
– Aftermarket radiators allowed – can be braced for support
– Aftermarket (racing) header is allowed.
– Computer may be chipped and/or tuned. A standalone ECU and aftermarket harness are
allowed. Ignition coils must remain OEM however the coil-on-plug kits are allowed.
– Racing fuel cells are highly recommended. An approved racing fuel cell must be commercially
produced with a plastic or rubber bladder as well as an outer metal enclosure. Cell should be
mounted properly as per manufacturers recommendations and it should have a rollover valve
or ball.
– The fuel rail may be aftermarket in the interest of safety. No exotic or high-capacity rails –
subject to the discretion of the lead FPMS tech inspector. A fuel pressure regulator and/or
gauge are allowed.
– Exhaust which runs through the cockpit should be fully shielded from driver with metal
– Exhaust pipes must not extend out of any body surface more than 1” and pipe must be blunt
and free of sharp edges.


SAFETY:

– RACING helmet with Snell SA 2010 or FIA 8860-2010 certification or newer is required (no
motorcycle or DOTs helmets)
– Minimum single-layer fire suit required (SA 3.2A specification recommended).
– Racing shoes (SFI Spec 3.3) are REQUIRED to be worn during competition or on the racing surface.
– Fire proof gloves are mandatory (SFI 3.3 specification recommended).
– A 4 or 5-point harness, properly mounted per manufacturers’ specifications, is required.
Harness certifications are good for 4 years from date of SFI certification or until marked
expiration. Any worn, abraded or torn belts shall be replaced. Harnesses should be mounted to
roll cage at all attachment points.
– A minimum 5 lb. fire extinguisher or on-board fire suppression system is strongly
recommended and should be securely mounted within drivers reach.
– Only commercially produced racing-type seats which are properly mounted per
manufacturers’ specifications are allowed. A full containment seat is strongly recommended.
Cars equipped with full containment seats will receive a 50 lbs. weight break.
– A head and neck restraint system (SFI 16.1 compliant) is strongly recommended. Drivers
using a head and neck restraint will receive a 50 lbs. weight reduction.
– Head and Neck Restraint certifications are good for 5 years from date of SFI certification.
– Fuel cells must have both a vertical and horizontal fire wall to separate from driver
compartment
– Fuel lines which run through the cockpit should be fully shielded with a firewall or within
metal conduit.
– All glass and ancillary and unneeded plastic should be removed
– Interiors should be free of debris and sharp edges
– Batteries must be securely attached inside engine compartment or may be relocated inside a
securely mounted box. Must use positive fasteners and hardware – NO BUNGIE CORDS or
RATCHET STRAPS. Wet cell batteries that are inside the driver compartment MUST be covered
with a non-conductive cover (plastic or rubber).

NUMBER:

Fuel cell must not be mounted lower than bottom of quick-change rear end.
Gas and E85 Flex Fuel – NO alcohol – NO nitrous oxide, nitro methane or other nitrate additives.

Gas must not check above + 5 or – 5 on electronic fuel checker when calibrated with tracks racing gas.

NUMBER:

Number must be at least 18” inches high and on both sides and top of car AND MUST BE LEGIBLE. All cars must have a number.

EXHAUST/MUFFLERS:

MUFFLERS 25 LBS WIEGHT BRAKE

Dirt Pro Muffler or Borla Muffler.

NO modifications and/or alterations to mufflers will be allowed.

Collector type headers required.

All cars must register under 100 decibels.

NO deliberate air leaks, vents, holes, etc.

Any car that loses a muffler will automatically be disqualified.

BRAKES:

Four-wheel disc brakes permitted.

NO carbon fiber brake parts permitted.

FUEL CELL / FUEL:

An approved fuel cell (32-gallon maximum) must be securely mounted in the trunk area of the car, inside a .20-gauge metal box supported by a minimum of two 2” inch by 1/ 8” inch steel straps.

All fuel cells must be completely visible from rear of car.

Fuel cell must not be mounted lower than bottom of quick-change rear end.

Gas only – NO alcohol – NO nitrous oxide, nitro methane or other nitrate additives.

NO propylene oxide.

Gas must not check above + 5 or – 5 on electronic fuel checker when calibrated with tracks racing gas.
Gas must pass acid test.

TRANSMISSION:

Must have at least one forward and one reverse gear in working order.

NO straight drives or in and out boxes.

WHEELS:

Any brand or type of wheel allowed must be mounted with lug nuts.

NO knock-off or center locks wheels.

Maximum wheel width – 14” inches.

TIRES:

Right Rear Only: 55’s,56’s, 1600’s and 4″s.   Left Rear 21’s; 1350; 55’s; 3’s;  Hoosier 1600’s; American Racer 48’s or 56’s. Fronts Open.

Tires must have all numbers and name on the tire No grinding off of numbers or names, any tire that has been altered will be illegal.

No tire softener, tires will be randomly checked before and/or after race and must punch minimum of 48 (hot or cold) on track durometer.

Any item not listed in protest fees is considered a visual protest item and must be protested before race and not after.

Any crate engine protested must be reassembled and resealed by one of the Authorized Repair/Rebuild Centers.

ALL BODIES MUST BE STOCK APPEARING: Stock, Appearing Aftermarket Steel or Aluminum bodies will be allowed. All aftermarket bodies must have plastic nose and tail pieces, Roofs must be Stock Appearing Fiberglass or Steel, Dirt Late Model style roofs. Hood may be fiberglass, aluminum or steel.  All bodies stock or aftermarket are subject to approval by the technical inspector. Wheel Base must be stock based on the make and model of the car, with a
1″ minimum tolerance.

NO front push bars will be allowed. If you feel you need some protection for the radiator you may build a guard using tubing, but all tubing must be kept completely behind front bumper in the grill area. If you have a body style with a plastic nose piece all guards must be behind nose piece.

Rear push bars permitted.

All cars with stock bodies must have OEM type front & rear bumpers. Both bumpers must have bumper covers. No tubing outside the bumper cover.  Cars with aftermarket bodies must have plastic nose piece.

NO glass or Lexan in windows (must be open).

Any plastic additions must conform to original body contour.

NO homemade nose pieces or body parts.

 

SPOILERS:

Spoilers may have a maximum size of 8” height, by width. 72″ MAX; WIDE SPOILER 8″ TALL. THREE SPOILER BRACES ALLOWED MUST BE TRIANGULAR IN SHAPE MAXIMUM HEIGHT OF 8″ AND MAXIMUM LENGTH OF 18″. Note: Gurney Flaps or Curls are allowed along the upper edge of the spoiler, but their length will be included in all measurements, Spoilers will be measured according to total length of and width of material, in any shape. 72″ wide spoilers 2700lbs.

Three spoiler braces allowed, braces must be triangular in shape, maximum height of 8” inches and maximum length of 18” inches at base.

A metal firewall must encompass the driver’s compartment – front, rear, sides and floorboard.

Boxed interiors permitted.

FRAME & RAILS:

Stock frame rails. Body does not have to match frame but must be OEM stock steel or one of the approved Five Star body kits. This will allow you to use a newer body style.

Tying frame rails together, reinforcing or X bracing permitted.

Weight jack area may be altered. Buckets, plates, etc.

Frame or frame rails may be replaced from snout, (must be a stock automotive Camaro snout) to the rear of car with a minimum of 1 3/4” material and must be .085-wall thickness.

Upper link, rubber bushing torque link or spring-loaded type upper link permitted on leaf cars.

NO 5th coil, 90-10’s, lift bar, pull bar or Reese bar, etc.

COIL SPRING CAR:

May use a three-point set up with a rubber mounted upper link bar, solid bar 90-10’s, spring bar allowed.

Solid Panhard Bars with rod ends permitted.

Spring Bars and Biscuit Bars permitted.

Rear lower control arms may be aluminum or steel tubes with rod ends with a maximum length of 26” inches from center to center of the mounting holes.

Rod ends allowed on solid Panhard bar, solid upper link bar and rear lower control arms, this is the only place rod ends will be allowed on rear suspension.

SHOCKS:

 

ROLL CAGE:

All cars must have a suitable steel roll cage protecting the drive’s compartment.

Side roll bars are mandatory and must extend into door panels; a minimum of three bars must be used on left side and two on right side.

Bars must be at least 1-1/2” inch in diameter and a minimum of .095” inch wall thickness.

Seat must be fastened to roll bars or rail.

Three spoiler braces allowed, braces must be triangular in shape, maximum height of 8” inches and maximum length of 18” inches at base.

A metal firewall must encompass the driver’s compartment – front, rear, sides, and floorboard.

OEM Lower control arms for make & model required. After-market bushings permitted. May run tubular lower control arms on tube chassis.

Racing shocks permitted one shock per wheel. NO canister shocks. No Schrader Valves or Piercing Valves, No Double adjustable shocks allowed. 4 bar cars must run one shock and one spring assembly per wheel.

2024 PONY STOCK DIVISION:

BODY:

  1.  Stock auto body allowed, 100lb weight break allowed.
  2.  May have complete aluminum body.
  3.  Must have stock fire wall in stock location and full floor pan. (NO WELDED FLOOR PAN ONTO THE TUBE FRAME IS PERMITTED) Except a Jig Car.
  4.  Inner panel may be removed.
  5.  The breather may stick through hood.
  6.  Nose and tail pieces included MD3 allowed.
  7.  Spoiler must be no more than 8″ max.

CAR NUMBER:

Number must be at least 18” inches high and on both sides and top of car AND MUST BE LEGIBLE. All cars must have a number.

 

  1. FRAM AND RAILS:
  2. Must have roll cage and all Safety Equipment.
  3. Roll cage must be secured to the unibody.
  4. Chassis on a Fox Body Mustang can be cut in front of the front shock towers, and behind the rear shock towers and finished out with tubing.

They are required to remain in the stock position and mount.

  1. Leaf Spring cars must retain the chassis all the way back to the rear leaf spring mounting points and positions.  Shocks must go through the OEM holes.
  2. Jig car allowed. No 4 bar rear suspension.

 

SUSPENSION:

  1. Must be stock suspension, unless it’s a jig car.
  2. 1 shock per wheel. No canister shocks. No 4 bar suspension.
  3. Lowering blocks ok.
  4. Adjustable buckets and wedge bolts are permitted.
  5. Racing springs permitted, must be in stock location.
  6. May cut or lower a frame for caster/camber adjustments.
  7. May cut panhard bar, but must retain stock ends, non-adjustable.
  8. Caster and Camber plates ok.
  9. Shocks with external reservoirs will not be allowed.
  10. Racing shocks and struts are allowed as long as they can be mounted in the Factory Positions. Shocks must retain stock angle.
  11. In order to run different shocks, the shock mount can be moved up for shock travel as long as the angle is not modified.
  12. Aftermarket control arms Front or Rear must carry 10# weight penalty per wheel.
  13. Only one shock per wheel will be allowed.
  14. Leaf spring cars may use blocks or jack bolts to adjust the ride height of the car.
  15. Bump steer will be allowed.
  16. All suspension pivot points must remain in the factory locations.  Aftermarket bushings monoballs will be permitted.
  17. 4 Link cars may adjust pinion angle, adjusting the length of the upper links only.
  18. Bushings or offset bushings are ok in the steering rack.

 

BRAKES:

  1. 3 Wheel brake shut off permitted.
  2. Stock rotors and drums.  May remove caliper and rotor on RF ONLY.
  3. 4 Wheel disc brakes permitted.
  4. Dual master cylinders permitted.

 

EXHAUST/MUFFLERS:

  1. Any Header permitted, MUST have muffler.

 

FUEL:

  1. Only pump gas/racing gas allowed.
  2. Any fuel containing any type of alcohol will not be allowed. That includes E85 and oxygenated fuels that contain alcohol.
  3. No additives.

CABURETOR:

  1. Fuel injection will not be allowed.
  2. Holley 4112 500 cfm and Holley 7448 350 cfm 2-bbl carburetors allowed.
  3. NO 4 barrel carburetors allowed.
  4. No aerosol carburetors allowed.
  5. Choke horn may be removed.
  6. Carburetor must have boosters with no modifications to boost or venturi.

 

ENGINE:

  1. Stock engine location except Jig car.
  2. No engines with more that 2 valves per cylinder.
  3. Formula for CC: bore x bore x .7854 x stroke x 4 = cid. Then divide cid by .061 (tolerance of .010 for wear)
  4. No rotary or turbo or DOHC permitted.
  5.  Aluminum cam gear or pulley allowed. Adjustable gear ok.
  6.  Any steel rod. No aluminum or titanium.
  7. Stock crank or billet crank permitted.
  8. Oil pan – any wet.
  9. No dry sumps allowed.
  10. No vacuum pumps permitted.  May have regulated exhaust evac system.
  11.  Any flat top pistons/Toyota 1600 and 1800 may run dome pistons.

IGNITION:

  1. Any ignition system allowed.

 

WEIGHT:

  1. Any engine up to 2250cc must weigh 2200 pounds.
  2.  Any engine between 2251cc and 2400cc must weigh 2400 pounds.
  3.  Any engine between 2401cc and 2610cc must weigh 2500 pounds.
  4.  All weights must be posted in clear view including all breaks and/or penalties.

WEIGHT BREAKS:

  1. If you run a stock clutch, pressure plate and lightened factory flywheel, you can take a 50# weight break.
  2. Stock OEM intake manifolds (with no porting/polishing) may take a 50# weight break.
  3. OEM cylinder heads with either hydraulic or solid lifters with only bowl work. No porting or polishing. Stock size valves and a flat tappet cam may receive a 100# weight break.
  4. If you run a stock body, you may receive a 100# weight break.
  5. If you run 8″ wheel and 8″ tire you get a 10# per wheel weight break.

WEIGHT PENALTIES:

  1. Aftermarket cast iron heads must carry a 50# weight penalty.
  2. wheels over 8″ maximum with must carry a 10# per wheel penalty.
  3. Aftermarket control arms (front or rear) carry a 10# per wheel weight penalty.

 

CYLINDER HEAD:

  1. Any cast iron head allowed as long as they are/were available to the general public for sale.
  2. OEM production aluminum heads on Toyota allowed.
  3. No aftermarket aluminum heads allowed on any engines.
  4. No dual cam shafts.
  5. Milling, porting and polishing allowed.
  6. No relocation of intake/exhaust ports or runners.
  7. Any cam allowed.
  8. Any size valves allowed. Valve guide spacing cannot be altered.
  9. Aftermarket cast iron heads must carry a 50# weight penalty.
  10. OEM cylinder head with either hydraulic or solid lifters, with only bowl works. No porting/polishing.  Stock size valves, and flat tappet cam may receive a 100# weight breaks.

 

TRANSMISSION CLUTCH and FLYWHEEL:

  1. Only a stock transmission will be allowed. Top loader transmissions will NOT be allowed.
  2.  Transmission must have forward and reverse gears.
  3.  Lightening of the transmission is allowed.
  4.  All internal gears must be OEM stock production gears.
  5.  No billet gears allowed.
  6.  No aftermarket transmissions allowed.
  7.  No racing transmissions allowed.
  8.  Any working race clutch, such as Tilton, Quarter Master or Gold Star Allowed. Couplers are not.
  9. If you run a stock clutch, pressure plate and stock lightened flywheel you can take a 50# weight break.
  10. CAR MUST START AND MOVE UNDER ITS OWN POWER

TIRES & WHEELS:

  1. Bead-locks allowed.
  2. 8″ Wide wheels permitted.
  3. Wheels over 8″ maximum width must add a 10# weight penalty per wheel.
  4. Hoosier or American Racer are permitted tires along with DOT tires.
  5. Tires MUST NOT be treated with any chemicals, solutions or any other compounds.
  6.  If you run 8″ wheel and 8″ tire you will get a 10# per wheel weight break.

Rear-End

  1. A Trailing Arms:   Must be Stock for Make and Model
  1. Bushings:    Must be Stock for Make and Model
  1. Top Control Arms:  May be cut and Shortened for Pinion Angle Settings
  1. Leaf Springs:   May cut Leaf Spring Pads on Axle Tube and Re-Weld for pinion Angle Adjustment

INTAKE:

  1. Any intake manifold permitted,
  2. Stock OEM intake manifolds with no porting/polishing may receive a 50# weight break.

SAFETY:

All cars must have 3” inch seat belts with shoulder harness and attached to roll cage. And must be worn at ALL times while on Race Track

We strongly recommend that all cars have an approved fire extinguisher system, securely mounted, within easy reach of the driver.

  1. A 5 lb. Halon System is recommended.
  2. All drivers must wear a complete fire suit, shoes and gloves.

PROTEST RULE:

Protest Fee and written request must be made to the Technical Director within 5 minutes of the end of the main event.

In order to protest a car you must finish behind that car. 

  • $100.00 to pull valve covers check for solid lift or roller lift cam shaft.
  • $200.00 to pull head, check head, intake, carburetor and bore & stroke.
  • $150.00 to pull transmission and check clutch and weigh flywheel.
  • $50.00 to check muffler.
  • $800.00 Complete engine. (Camshaft, head, intake/spacer, carburetor, cc’s.
  • 1,000.00 Bumper to Bumper (complete engine, flywheel assembly, trans, rear end, suspension and checking for traction control).
  • $50.00 Visual Protest must be made within 30 minutes before heat races.
