KIDS BOX CAR RACES

    *Rules & Regulations*

Find a cardboard box with minimum dimensions of 29 inches (length) by 15 inches (width) by 19 inches (height).  Use a box with no lettering on the sides so you can design your Race Car.

Tape the flaps shut on both top and bottom, it’s optional to remove the bottom flaps if you wish.

Cut a hole in both the top and bottom of the box if needed so the box will fit down over your childs body.

Mount or cut out handles or attach straps to fit over the shoulders to “carry” your car.

Color, paint or spray the entire exterior of your box and decorate it to resemble you favorite racer, or you personality.  Make sure you pick a number and put it on both sides big enough so the fans can read it.

Use paper plates for wheels and attach them with glue or staples.

Avoid attachments on your car that will make them too heavy or safe to run with.

Racers must wear running shoes and socks, Shoes must either TIE or have VELCRO straps.  Children will be disqualified it caught running barefooted or with flip flops

Wear socks that slide on and off easily.

RULES FOR THE PIT STOPS

At the PIT STOP, the racers stop and remove their boxcars.  They sit on the Carpet squares in front of their Pit Crew.  The adult (pit crew) quickly removes the childs shoes and socks.  ONLY ONE PAIR OF SOCKS WILL BE PERMITTED TO BE WORN.  The pit crew quickly replaces their socks and shoes, securing them properly.

This is your Pit Stop.

The child then stands, puts their boxcars back on, and runs to the finish line.
